YC Spotlight: “Growth in Our DNA”

Fruits and vegetables are staples in a healthy diet, but for those living in low income neighborhoods, fast food and convenience store snacks are often the cheapest items to buy.

This week’s YC Spotlight features a new short film by MNN’s advanced youth field producers about systemic inequalities in access to quality food. In “Growth in Our DNA,” Hear from two urban farmers who are working to make fresh produce more accessible to people in lower income neighborhoods around the city and learn more about how community farming is empowering women of color and addressing environmental justice.

Watch now and tune in to the Youth Channel every weekday at 6pm on MNNHD (Spectrum 1993), MNN4 (Spectrum 67, RCN 85, FiOS 36) or streaming live on mnn.org.
