Co-Chair of the Council’s Task Force to Combat Gun Violence
Passed the landmark legislation in the City Council, including the Community Safety Act, which created the Office of Inspector General for the New York Police Department, the Fair Chance Act to combat employment discrimination, and served as Co-Chair on a taskforce that created New York’s Crisis Management System and funded Cure Violence Groups to combat gun violence.
