MNN's Community Outreach & Media Services Department:
Empowering Communities Through Media
MNN's Community Outreach and Media Services Department provides services to community-based non-profit organizations—such as community, cultural, arts, labor, social justice and other organizations. By making their own media these community groups increase their outreach, create community dialogue, and promote social justice or local cultural expressions. MNN’s mission is to foster a media literate society, and to build a media infrastructure to serve the needs of all Manhattan’s residents and non-profit community organizations. We offer groups media planning consultations, free training, access to field and studio equipment, grants, and also assisted facilitated productions for organizations all around Manhattan.

January 13th, 2009
Dear MNN Friends and Colleagues,
For the last year, MNN has offered part-time education and training services
for community groups from our basement office on 106th Street and Lexington
Ave. in East Harlem. This New Year, we¹re moving! We¹re transferring those
services to our main offices at West 59th Street starting on February 1st, 2009.
We have great facilities at West 59th Street, including studios, editing
systems and cameras, and we will be continuing to offer our high quality
training services to community groups from that site.
Thanks for your understanding and if you have any questions, please don¹t
hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at 212-757-2670 x346.
Sincerely,
Betty Yu
Director of COMS
