Welcome back to Clip of the Week! We’ve been on hiatus for the last month or so, throwing all our weight behind Race2Represent, MNN’s hyperlocal multimedia initiative providing Manhattan voters with unprecedented coverage of local elections. In honor of that special project, today we bring you the most recent episode of MNN’s “Punto de Vista,” in which host Carlos Cabrera sits down with Christine Quinn, City Council Speaker and Democratic candidate for mayor.

"Punto de Vista" is a Spanish-language call-in show that explores politics and current events that shape life in New York City every day. The interview with Quinn, which broadcasted live on Thursday, September 5, was conducted in English and marked the first real-time translation voiceover to air on MNN.

Watch the clip to hear Quinn talk about taking control of rising rents, addressing homelessness in the city and what it would feel like to become the first female mayor of New York. Callers ask her what she would do about the high school dropout rate and how she would tackle the growing problem of bullying among the city’s youth.

Catch “Punto de Vista” every Thursday at 8pm on MNN1 and MNN.org, and 212-757-1483 to join the conversation. Check out MNN.org/race2represent for detailed information on tomorrow’s primary election, including candidate debates for every contested City Council seat in Manhattan. See you at the polls!
