In 1905 Anna Jarvis of Virginia campaigned to make Mother’s Day a recognized holiday in the United States. Finally, in 1907, the first official Mother’s Day was recognized. Jarvis’ aim was to set aside a day to honor all mothers because she believed a mother is “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world.”  Join us This Week on MNN as our Community Members highlight Moms who influence and inspire.
